An extremely rare antique 19th century devil mask door knocker with knocker missing.
I have never seen another like this,at the right angle the eyes stare straight at you and seems to come to life.
It is completely covered in verdigris,I can only guess it`s age as 19th century but could be earlier.There is a number imprinted,I think it`s 1, 2 or 4 then 797.
One horn is pointed and the other rounded,the face is very detailed.
It`s a beautiful item albeit knockerless,a welded wall mounting stand is supplied as it makes brilliant wall art when lit correctly(screws and wall plugs provided).
The bolts are original and just over 6 cms long.

Width across from horns 8 cms
