A splendid William IV/early Victorian period rosewood table. Of very good construction with stunning rosewood veneers. This table has duality of function, as a games/chess table and a sewing/work table. The rectangular top is cross banded and inset with a chess board (the "white" squares being in sycamore. There is a single drawer below and then beneath that a pull out work basket. Standing on stylish , shaped lyre ends which are united by a under-stretcher giving rigidity and strength. All standing on its original small brass castors. This table is offered for sale in excellent condition. It has a lovely mellow colour and patina. It is ready to go straight into the home.
