This vintage compact is suitable for use with modern loose & pressed / solid face powder or as a handbag mirror.
A Stratton 'Queen Convertible' powder compact decorated with high quality enamel which has the appearance of marble. The enamel is very beautiful & without any enamel loss or damage. It is hard to find Stratton compacts with this lid decoration. The compact is in excellent condition. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror is excellent & has a frosted glass border - it gives a perfect reflection. The interior & exterior case all beautiful gilding metal which has been protected with a layer of lacquer & so the compact will never tarnish / need to be cleaned. The powder well wall is stamped 'PAT. 764125'. The compact comes with the original felt pouch, sifter, puff & inspection docket. The base is decorated with vertical lines & tiny chevrons. The compact is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND'.
This vintage compact mirror measures 3 1/4 " & weighs 98.4 grams.
