These are a very good pair of 'L' shaped stools. They are Victorian, dating to around 1890 and are made in mahogany with turned beech legs. I think originally they would have been used either side of an inglenook fireplace as club fenders but they could be used in any principal room, in a corner or a window bay.

The benches each stand on six turned legs with reeding to the legs in the Aesthetic style. The seats are covered in muted gold velvet. This is old and may well be original? The condition is good though there is one minor hole - see photos. The joints are solid and there is no sign of worm or damage. The wood is well polished.

These a beautiful period furnishing pieces.
