Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany leather office armchair (circa 1880), in very good condition.

Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany leather office armchair (circa 1880) in very good condition. The chair has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain sage green leather. The chair features an elegant curved high back leather buttoned backrest, with a scroll top rail, which connects to leather padded arms above a bank of fine spindles, supported by turned vertical upright columns. The sprung stuff over leather seat is extremely comfortable to sit on it features brass studwork to its perimeter (this studwork is also visible on the buttoned upright section) on a serpentine front rail. The underside of the seat has been webbed in the traditional manner. The chair stands on prominent ring turned legs to the front, with shaped legs to the back the legs terminate on replacement brass castors. This item features a rich red-brown mahogany colour.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
Condition Report:
The chair is in very good condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair has boasts a top quality full grain sage green leather, which incorporates the traditional brass stud, tacks to the seat perimeter, and the webbing to the underside. There are no marks, wear or tears to the leather – the leather is in excellent condition having newly reupholstered. The chair sits on replacement brass castors. The chair has a fantastic colour to the leather and polish. This item is well constructed, is solid in joint and ready to use.
