Great shape and design to this one which survives from the 1920s and is English in origin. We have a lovely brass plaque to the front of the back “Presented to Rev .W.W. Sawtell from the congregation of St. Margarets Parish Church, Uxbridge. Sept 1929”. A little different from the norm of the same era, it possesses a hint of French about it, the front legs are so attractive, the sweep to the arms great and the arched back make it perfect for a bedroom, kitchen diner or garden room.

Condition wise it is good – we have day to day knocks and genuine historic wear – it sits worn with no wobbles. We do have a very good historic repair / brace to the back but old, fine, not particularly noticeable and not ugly. The cane work is good with no breaks and firm with no sagging. Could be used with a cushion or we are able to offer custom made cushions/seat pad – let us know your requirements and we can quote.

When purchasing from us we include delivery within mainland UK, excluding Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isles, in the purchase price and liaise with you to ensure delivery is as swift and as smooth as possible. Items are delivered by private courier, usually this is a one man service. If you require a two person delivery, please let us know. Smaller items are wrapped and packed (into recycled boxes where possible) and sent via a national courier service, tracking details will be provided once an item has been collected from us.

Terms and conditions

If you are not happy with an item you have 14 days to return it. This is providing that the item is returned, in the condition it left us, within 14 days. Please note that items must be wrapped and insured, with the return cost being covered by you. Once the item is back with us, having had a once over in the workshop, your refund will be issued.

On the rare occasion that an item is damaged in transit, please notify us immediately or within 48 hours and provide us with details and images so we can best remedy the situation.
