Superb Quality Gillows Mahogany Whatnot Georgian Gillows Whatnot %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Superb late 18th to early 19th century solid mahogany 4 tier whatnot of the highest quality attributed to Gillows of Lancaster. This is one of the nicest whatnots currently available on the market. Made from the best dense, heavy mahogany. Great design with lovely turnings to the uprights and nice shape turned feet with inset castors. The whatnot has two drawers, one half way down at the front and one at the top on the right hand side which is fitted inside. The top is fully adjustable on a ratchet and has its original book rest which is identical in design with the brass parts to a stamped Gillows reading table I had in stock recently.

This is a heavy piece of antique furniture of the highest quality and although not stamped I am very confident it is a Gillows piece.

The piece is a gorgeous colour with original finish with good patination, just had a wax which has brought it up beautifully.
