This is a stunning example of an inlaid tea caddy. From the late George III era, this tea caddy is made of inlaid mahogany, harewood, ebony and boxwood. It has a sarcophagus-form, the hinged cover has a lattice stringing design within barber's pole and chevron borders.

Internally, there are two lidded compartments, the body has a harewood husk patera within conforming borders between lion mask and ring side handles, the tea caddy sits on brass ball feet. It has a working lock and key.
