A rare 1940s Stratton powder compact in superb condition.

The stunning lid been rendered to look like an oil painting.

Beautiful red geraniums and what appear to be purple, pink and white convolvulus are arranged in a turquoise coloured vase.

The lid decoration has the typically painterly style of an oil painting and the high sheen of one which has been varnished.

This remarkable vintage compact is all the more appealing as it comes with the original accessories.

The original box is signed Stratton.

There isn't any loss of design or fading.

The mirror bezel is signed STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND.

The original box, powder puff, felt pouch & sifter are present.

Measures 3 inches diameter. Weighs 65.9 grams.
