This is a rare early 19th century giltwood six branch wall candelabra with stunning central angel. The ornate piece is a most delicate design in remarkably good original condition and retaining its original water gilding. The wall applique has 6 separate candle sconces to the beautiful scrolling wirework which is adorned with gessoed acanthus detail. The angel has a lovely rubbed appearance with the soft red glow showing through the gilt. She is emerging from a large shell whilst holding her arms aloft to the fabulous central acanthus leaf scroll above. This is a most imposing piece which measures 66 cms high by 55 cms wide and 33 in depth.
