Pair of Victorian Pewter Candlesticks, c.1840s-60s Victorian 1840s 1850s %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This is a handsome Pair of Victorian Pewter Candlesticks. The sticks have circular spreading bases with a single low knop on the baluster stems and urn shaped sconces. The interiors of the sconces are lined in brass.

As is usually the case with these candlesticks, there is no makers' mark so we cannot say who manufactured them but they are British and date to around the 1840s to 1860s.

Condition is good, with no dings or dents and just a slight misshaping to the circular bases. There are a few scratch marks around the tops of the sconces where owners have removed candle stubs over many years plus the overall superficial surface wear that has to be expected with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

Each candlestick is 24.2cm / 9.5ins high and 11.3cm / 4.4ins in diameter across the base. The pair together weigh in at a hefty 815g / 28.75oz of solid pewter.

Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
