Circa 1890. A stylish pair of tall mahogany tapering hall stands in the manner of James Shoolbred of London. The circular tops surmounted with an elegant urn, with six double brass hooks on shaped arch backs on a revolving section, supported on three tapering mahogany uprights with reeding on the facing intersected, braced for stability. Resting on a circular base, with three simple hipped saber legs. James Shoolbred & Co or also known as Jas Shoolbred was established in the 1820’s as a draper’s shop, at Tottenham Court Road, London.
