Wonderful Pair of French Ebonised and Boulle Pier Cabinets.
These Cabinets are Raised Upon Shaped Plinth Bases.
Each Cabinet Having 1 Glazed Door Which Opens to Reveal Shelving Within.
Each Cabinet Having Wonderful Boulle Decoration and Finished with Ormolu Mounts and Moldings.
"Boulle" refers to André-Charles Boulle, a French cabinetmaker and artist renowned for his distinctive marquetry technique known as "Boulle work." This technique involves intricate inlays of brass and tortoiseshell, often used in furniture and decorative art. Boulle's work was highly sought after in the 17th and 18th centuries, and his style significantly influenced European furniture design.
