Painted Marine Toleware Tea Caddy

An early 19th cent. metal decorated Toleware tea caddy. This has a nautical flavour and is decorated with marine paintings of sailing ships and classical buildings. The inside is tinned and has two compartments with a lock. The original knob on top is brass. This caddy is in remarkably original condition with some defects in the paintwork which can be clearly seen in the photographs. Sizes:4 ½ “(11cms) wide, 3”(7 ½ cms) deep, 5(13cms) high. Date circa 1830.
I have reluctantly decided that after 60 years spent in this marvellous business it is, figuratively speaking, time to hang up my cheque book. I have therefore made considerable reductions to the prices of most of my stock. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if any items are of interest. Deliveries carried at as normal. If I can be of any help please do not hesitate to contact me.
I have been in the antiques business since 1962, starting in the family business in Staffordshire.
In the early 1970’s I moved to Hertfordshire where I opened my own business and created a limited company.
Today, my business is carried out via the internet. Any successful antiques business, and particularly mine, remains a way of life and a hobby, it continues to give me enormous enjoyment and satisfaction.
I hope this is reflected by my commitment to a very high quality of service which I have always given over the years. I prefer to deliver sold items in person where possible to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
