Oak Longcase Clock By Rich Watkin Merthyr Tydfil
A 12” arch dial, oak longcase clock by Richard Watkin of Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. The antique clock has an 8-day movement striking hourly on a bell. The brass dial has a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, a silvered date aperture and a seconds ring, with cast brass spandrels to the corners. In the arch there is a painted dial showing the moonphases. The trunk has a shaped top the trunk door with blind fret canted corners. To either side of the hood there are turned columns with gilded capitals.
