Monumental Victorian Scottish Mahogany Sideboard Victorian mahogany sideboard %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Circa 1850, monumental early Victorian 4 door mahogany sideboard. The flame mahogany back rail with rounded section and concave sections, above the raised ends and the flat section in the centre which has plum pudding mahogany within its grain. There are 2 secret cupboards on the left and on the right in the raised sections, again with various ogee and shaped mouldings. There is a central double ogee drawer with its ash lining, indicating that the sideboard is Scottish, and beneath this there are 2 doors with curved arches. Inside is a large single shelved area. On the outer sections, the 2 doors have a large bombe section which sits on the facing. At the base there is a double plinth which follows the form and shape above. The sideboard is an excellent colour and great condition. Good example of an early Scottish sideboard.

Size 136cm high x 229cm wide x 65cm deep.
