Matching Pair of Yew Wood Windsor Chairs by Nichol
A Good pair of Yew Wood low back Windsor chairs by George Nicholson of Rockley with crinolin stretchers and single ring turned legs, the seats are Elm . George was the second chair maker to operate from this workshop he followed William Wheatland both were Methodist ministers, William actually funding the construction of the tiny church building next to the workshop which was the cause of his bankruptcy in 1830, Nicholson carried on with chair making until 1841 he was succeeded by Frederic Walker. These chairs are in good condition with a nice colour and patina
