George III Mahogany Travelling Writing Box
A Very Nice Quality George III Mahogany Travelling Writing Box with a plain Brass Escutcheon.
The Box is fitted with Mahogany lined drawers either end with brass carrying handles.
The Box opens to reveal a Green Leather Writing Surface (replacement) with hand applied gilt and blind tooling, a pen tray and compartments for inkwells, stamps etc.
These boxes were used when one needed to travel by Horse and Carriage.
In good condition.
