Very decorative and unusual early 19th century French Empire “commode a porte” or chest with doors, circa 1830 and with all original brass mounts and marble top.
This a a striking piece of furniture, the combination of the rich mahogany tones and the brass mounts is fabulous, finished with the dark charcoal marble top and ebonised lions paw feet.
Inside the doors you have a full width drawer and a central full width shelf, also the lock and key are in working order too.
Measuring:
31 1/2 inches or 80 cm high
49 3/4 inches or 126.5 cm wide
24 1/2 inches or 62.5 cm deep
7 inches or 18 cm bottom shelf height
6 1/4 inches or 16 cm top shelf height
Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!

Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
