Country Oak Late George III Open Armchair country chair desk chair side chair %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A quite unique and rare country oak late Georgian carver chair. Turned front legs and slightly sabre back legs. The arms meet fine turned/fluted supports joining a simple wooden seat. The back shows a slightly curved/shaped top rail with a single cross rail.
This desk chair presents the expected wear and repair commensurate with its age and its use and would be perfectly comfortable with or without a seat cushion.
Splendid colour and great as a side or desk chair.
We date it at around 1790 - 1800.
