A beautiful Edwardian mahogany, satinwood inlaid and hand painted ladies desk. The bow fronted superstructure having a shaped and moulded top with a classic portrait of a lady within a tied ribbon and drapes panel. Below is a small bow fronted and glazed display cabinet with a drawer above and flanked by 2 banks of 3 drawers all with painted decoration. The pull out writing surface having a green tooled leather within a painted and boxwood inlaid frame. The lower section again bow fronted with 2 narrow and 2 wider drawers with conforming decoration and arched kneehole. The sides are beautifully decorated with flowers, musical instruments, scrolls and graduated harebells. The desk is raised on decorated square tapering legs and joined by a serpentine shaped under tier with further painted decoration. This beautiful desk is in excellent original condition.
