Art Deco Drinks Hostess Bar Cart Trolley
A stylish 1930s Art Deco hostess or cocktail trolley cart made by the Czech antique furniture manufacturers Fischel . This stylish cart/trolley has two serving trays and stands on tapered three legs with its original large wheeled casters. Its design is typical of the Art Deco furniture of the period with curved corners, rolled edges. The finish on this cart is a clever lacquer representing a Walnut gain. It has a achieved a gorgeous deep chocolate patina over many years which we've maintained with a light restoration. The wheels work perfectly and effortlessly and the whole piece is sturdy.

Bentwood furniture was invented by Michael Thonet, who was granted patents for his invention in England, France, and Belgium in 1841. When the patents expired in 1871, David Gabriel Fischel founded D.G. Fischel & Sons in Niemes, Czechoslovakia, and began making bentwood and Art Deco antique furniture. Fischel’s son, Alexander, had worked at Thonet Bros. By 1913, the company was also working in Vienna.
