This is an antique Windsor chair. A British, elm and ash elbow or armchair, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1860.

A pierced, shaped back splat sits between slender spindles
Cow horn arms supported by turned balusters
Traditional, carved saddle seat

The seat base stamped with the Isle of Man triskelion
Raised upon turned legs, with canted angles to the rear
United by a H-stretcher with turned spindles
Standing upon four peg feet

This is a fascinating antique Windsor chair, stamped with the Manx coat of arms to the underside. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
