Antique Sundial - STOLEN
Antique Sundial STOLEN from a garden in West Sussex between 17th and 23rd September 2008.
Description:
Terra cotta, Possibly Victorian or early 20th century (May be a Liberty sundial), 3 feet high (approximately)
Base/pedestal (all one piece) either heptagonal (7) or octagonal (8)
Top is removable and circular
It has raised leaf and floral decoration to the pedestal and top.
Distinctive inscription in a circle on the top, which reads:
"Amongst ye flowres I tell ye houres" (I think that's how the spelling goes!)
Metal dial plate fits into the top.
Crime Ref. No. WC3/5628/08.
