This large antique mahogany two drawer writing table date from around the 1840-60 period & is in good condition. It has a hand coloured tooled leather writing surface & the back is finished too, so it can stand in the middle of a room. The two drawers have locks & working key. They also have nicely turned mahogany handles. This desk has a wonderful colour & patina, with loads of character. There are various old indentations in the surface, but for working desk that is about 180 years old, it's to be expected. It has lovely generous proportions & plenty of knee room. The legs are boldly turned & have original brass capped casters.
