This is an antique decorative tea caddy. An English, flame mahogany and boxwood keepsake box with figurative lion handle, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.
Of delightful appearance and form, a treat for decorative use
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
Select flame stocks present fine grain interest throughout
Warm caramel hues beam beneath a wax polish finish
Distinctive octagonal form, accentuated with quality boxwood stringing
Lid graced with a charming decorative brass lion handle
