DESCRIPTION:
This is a super piece of haberdashery furniture and considering the years of use is in great condition estimated date of c1890. The unit comprises of 3 drawers inset into a pitch pine ebonised carcass with a stepped solid mahogany top which is a fantastic contrast to the base. Each drawer has a quality brass military style handle. The unit stands on a solid base. The unit can be used either way as the mahogany top is finished on all 4 sides. This is going to make a fine practical show piece in many settings in an office home or commercial, craft room or indeed in a bathroom with a jug and bowl on and a mirror above as well as a small serving area in a boutique or other commercial premises.

WORKSHOP REPORT:
The piece remains structurally sound, and all drawers and fittings work as expected.
The side panels have opened slightly, which is a common and expected feature in furniture of this age.
There are visible signs of previous ownership and many years of general use. These marks are consistent with age and use, rather than misuse or abuse.
There is a slight split to the centre drawer front. This, along with the points noted above, was not considered to require workshop repair. These are typical age-related characteristics and are best understood as part of the piece’s history, character, and charm.
