A particularly attractive antique chest made of camphor wood. Metal banding, carrying handles and lock (with original key) are all of brass. It is lifted off the ground on low integral feet. The quality, such as the ring handle that lifts the top, suggests a military history.
The chest, with a wonderful smell of camphor wood inside, has been cared for. It has a superb colour and patina. Circa 1860
