1920's Large Hat Stand Extending Brass and Ceramic
An original, dating to 1920, extending brass hat stand, closed height is 31 inches and fully extended is an exceptional 51 1/2 inches, making it suitable for both counter and floor display. It has a high gloss black glazed heavy ceramic circular shaped socle. The brass plain column is telescopic with a single draw and single locking screw, all in brass. The top has the original mushroom top covered in brown plush.
This has been lightly and non-abrasively cleaned, this has left the age patina rather than take it back to as it was new. The condition is excellent, it does show its age and use, but that is to be expected, there is a glaze nick to the top of the socle and the mushroom appears to be designed to tilt slightly, although this may not be the case and it has developed its own tilt over the years, it is however in perfect working order.
