Superb William IV rosewood writing or sofa table c.1830. Beautiful top featuring particularly well figured and symmetrically arranged rosewood veneers and a crossbanded edge on solid mahogany groundwork. Over two slim mahogany lined drawers. Drawer fronts and apron veneered to match on each side with dummy drawer fronts on the rear. Raised on turned column legs with crisply carved papyrus leaf detail and turned bases over long plinths with original turned bun feet and brass castors. Note the lack of a connecting stretcher and the shallow apron allows the table to be used as a writing desk. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
