William IV Provincial Silver Caddy Spoon Newcastle
Here we have for sale this elegant and highly collectible early 19th Century William IV period, English Provincial silver fiddle pattern caddy spoon, of shovel form with an unusually long handle which is monogrammed with the letter W.
This spoon was manufactured in Newcastle in 1833, the Newcastle assay office was open from 1702 until 1884.

Condition Report:
In very good condition for its age (188 years) , the tip of the bowl is slightly misshapen and there are age related scratches (some of which are deeper) and marks consistent with age of the spoon, the hallmarks are legible, however the duty mark is poorly struck. A lovely example indeed.
This would make an ideal gift for a loved one or a great addition to your fine silver collection.
