William Greaves of Newcastle upon Tyne (Northumberland) Longcase clock
This eight day running antique clock is housed in a mainly Oak case and with arched brass dial and flat top to the hood of the case .It is typical of work from the North East .
William was from a small Clock making family and worked from 1750 until his death in 1796.
The eight day movement is very well made and has some interesting cut out plates, brass dial with silvered chapter ring and steel hands . It has been recently cleaned and serviced .
William is known to be a suppler of fine quality antique clocks and similar are known to exist .
