William Clement of Totnes Rare Lantern Clock

An extremely rare, late 17th century antique clock by this highly collectable maker.
The thirty hour duration movement with an early Anchor Recoil escapement and the usual countwheel striking of the hours on a top-mounted bell. Both of the trains have uncolleted and tapered wheel arbors.
The diameter of the chapter ring is 6 1/2" and is signed by the maker with the place spelt as "Tottness". The frame dimensions are 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" x 6 1/2" high.
This clock appears to have always been Anchor Recoil escapement but the front potence has had its position changed and the pallet arbor looks as though it has been replaced (probably due to wear).
As far as I am aware, this is the only lantern clock to date known, by this maker.
William Clement of Totnes died in 1736.
Provenance: Purchased in London from a collector.
