W&H Quarter Striking Table/Bracket Clock ebonised table mantle clock
An impressive ebonised quarter striking bracket/table antique clock. An ebonised case with the original finish gilded mounts and finials. Glass side apertures and a sound fretted back door. Gilt cast feet. An arched gilt and silvered dial with corner spandrels. A slow/fast dial to the arch. An 8-day duration quarter striking 'ting-tang' mechanism by Winterhalder and Hofmeier. Circa 1880.

Winterhalder and Hofmeier were noted German clockmakers working in the 19th and early 20th century and particularly for 'ting-tang' quarter chimes.

Height 17" / 43 cms Width 12"/ 31 cms Depth 9 " / 23 cms.
