Exceptional late 19th.c. walnut bookcase by the acclaimed English cabinet makers Maple & Co. c.1870. Tall glazed top fitted with three adjustable shelves (depth 10″). Over a two door cupboard base with two drawers in the waist. Superb cabinet making typical of this high end maker, one of the biggest antique furniture makers of the period. In solid walnut throughout with crisp mouldings and carved detail ebonised for decorative effect. Retaining the original ornamental brass hinges, and handles. Maker’s stamps to the tops of both drawers. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Keys supplied.
