Yardley LAVENDER SELLER powder compact

This convertible powder compact is suitable for modern loose & pressed / solid face powders or as a handbag mirror. Pressed powder with powder pans of 67 mm & 61 - 65 mm will all fit this compact.

A 1960s Yardley 'Lavender Seller' powder compact in very good condition with a long history behind it. The lid shows this company's most famous image in fine detail- with no loss of design. The lid lifts to reveal an excellent mirror which gives a perfect reflection. The powder well & mirror bezel have acquired a deep golden patina. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The compact has not been used with powder. The paper insert protecting the powder well, the original beautiful blue silk signed Yardley, the spacer ring & the sifter are pristine. The spacer ring is inserted so that powder pans measuring between 61 - 65 mm can be used. When it is removed the standard 67 mm powder pans can be inserted. The base is smooth gold tone gilding metal. Measures 3" & weighs 63.5 grams.
