Vintage Silver Dwarf Taper Holder, Birmingham 1988

Here we have a good quality Vintage Sterling Silver Dwarf Taper or Small Candle Holder. The candle holder is in the traditional style with line decoration around the base and the sconce. It is weighted for stability and has a green baize covering on the underside of the base.
The taper or candle holder is made in Birmingham in 1988 by the firm E.M. Not much is known about him / her / them except that they were active in the 1980s and 1990s and their mark is mostly seen on candlesticks of various sizes.
Condition is very good with just one truly miniscule ding on the bottom rim of the base and only the superficial surface wear that has to be expected after a number of years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The taper holder stands 4.2cm / 1.6ins high and is 4.2cm / 1.6ins in diameter across the base. It weighs in at 31.2g / 1.1oz but this does of course include the weighting material.
The hallmarks on the upper side of the base are nice and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter O for 1988 and the E.M in a shield makers' mark.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
Overseas customers, please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
