A very attractive vintage compact made c.1950. A very attractive Majestic compact mirror in excellent condition with the original box, pouch, puff.
I think the compact must have been sat in a drawer for decades as it does not looked used.
The lid is gorgeous and shows a golden ship in full sail on a choppy dark green sea with a beautiful blue sky three clouds in the background. The lid is decorated with brushed gold tone & a border detail. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The inner lid is signed 'Majestic' & decorated with a golden spiral. The puff is signed 'Majestic' and in good condition. A yellow felt pouch is condition robust without any of the stitches coming undone - a few age related marks on it.The mirror gives a perfect reflection back. It has an age related mark in the middle.The box is adorable & marked 'Majesitc FIFTH AVENUE NEW YORK NO.7547 COLOR .....BLUE'
It is in very good condition. Ship compacts are highly collectible. Measures 3 1/4" & weighs 108.7 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
