Vintage 1940s/50s 16.5" Chad Valley Teddy Bear
This lovely vintage teddy bear was made by Chad Valley, but is missing his label (although the surround stitching is still there on his foot pad). He fluffy mohair fur with original rexine pads, glass eyes, and a black stitched nose and mouth. He is fully jointed and hard stuffed. He has a growler inside his tummy that is no longer operatibe. He has a navy blue ribbon around his neck that is not original. We would estimate him to date from the 1940s/50s.
Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear playwear consistent with age. He is overall a little grubby and faded, but his mohair fur is still fluffy with only a few thinning patches, mainly to his arms. His rexine pads are badly worn with significant loss to the rexine finish. There is a small hole in one foot pad. There is some wear to his nose stitching. As is mentioned above his maker's label is missing and the growler in his tummy is inoperative.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
42cm high. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
