Victorian Walnut Leather Daybed Sofa Settee Couch
Antique 19C Victorian walnut leather daybed sofa.
This is an unusual rare item, with a lovely age, colour and patina.
We believe that the sofa is made of walnut although it could conceivably be elm or a similarly coloured show wood.
The upholstery is a recent green leather (the seat cushion is recently constructed). We think that originally this would have been a cane begere sofa with loose cushions.
The sofa is very solid with no loose legs, sags or wobbles.
Very useful storage drawers that slide freely.
Lovely proportions and unusual styling.
1855mmW x 770mmD x 790mmH (~450mm high seat when sat on).
Historic knocks, marks, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique sofas. Note that the upholstery is recent with only light wear and marks. We have not inspected components concealed beneath the fabric. There a general all over sprinkling of historic woodworm holes (believed to be extinct), that we have treated for good measure.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able-bodied person (more if possible) to assist our driver carrying the sofa.
