Victorian Tall Cut Glass Vase w/ Silver Rim, 1896

This is a good quality elegant Victorian Cut Glass Vase with a Sterling Silver rim. This tall, slender vase has diamond and star cut decoration around the body, a crimped base and a star cut bottom. The rim is plain silver.
The silver is made by Charles Boyton in London and dates to 1896. Charles Boyton was one of several generations of Charles Boytons whose family firm was active in London from 1825 until 1933 when the family was bought out, although the company remained in business into the 1970s.
Condition is good with just a very small nibble out of the top rim and a another to the rim of the base. Pretty good going after 125 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The vase measures 25.3cm / 10ins high and is 7.8cm / 3ins in diameter across the base. It weighs 567g / 20oz.
The hallmarks on the silver rim are a little rubbed but can still be deciphered. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the leopard's head assay mark for London, the date letter a for 1896 and the C.B makers' mark for Charles Boyton.
