Victorian Pine Drapers Haberdashery Counter
Originally this was a Victorian draper shops counter but would now look superb as a kitchen island or stand alone kitchen unit.
Made from pitch pine, it has 6 deep drawers and a storage shelf at the base.
The top has some slight ink staining and the obvious knocks and bangs which are to be expected due to it's age and use.
Across the top brass nails have been used as markers for 1 yard, half a yard, quarter of a yard and eighth of a yard.
The top is made from 3 planks and there is a split that we have filled with wax. The top has been thoroughly scrubbed and then finished with hard wax oil. This gives it a water proof and easier to keep clean working surface.
The drawer knobs are the original sycamore turned knobs.
There has been woodworm running along the base at the back and sides but the whole counter has been treated thoroughly to ensure that they are deceased.
This piece of antique furniture is full of character and would look superb as a kitchen island, it's the right height at 90cm.
The frame of the unit could be painted if you preferred to match your kitchen units.
The one end looks like an early replacement, maybe it jutted up to a wall or it could have been longer and possibly at some time cut down - we do not know.
PLEASE NOTE: this is an antique piece, it's had good use throughout it's history. It has knocks, bangs and marks here and there. If you are looking for a pristine piece of furniture then this is not for you but if you are looking for a statement piece that has history, then you have found it :)

RETURNS...
We will gladly accept returns within 14 days of delivery if the item is not as described or broken in transit.
