Victorian Oak Partner’s Writing Table by Shoolbred


A handsome Victorian oak partner’s writing or library table by James Shoolbred & Co, the quarter-sawn oak top with rounded edge moulding and inset with the original black leather with Greek key tooled edge, desirable three drawers to each side with attractive replacement brass swan neck handles, brass keyhole liners and original secure lever locks (except one replacement), stamped ‘JAS SHOOLBRED & CO’ and raised on ring turned and tapering legs with brass caps and brown pottery castors.
In solid condition with traditional polish and wax finish, one drawer front is discoloured and another has a chip next to the escutcheon, the top surface with old repairs and slight gaps to the corner joins, the leather is worn but could possibly be refurbished and the centre join below is slightly raised.
