Description:
Here is an example of a fine quality antique English 5ft oak and leather partner’s desk, with drawers either side, circa 1860, in excellent condition. The desk incorporates top quality full grain green inset leather with elegant gold tooling, which is bordered by oak reeded moulded top. If you prefer different colour leather, we can replace it with a colour of your choice for an additional £250. There are nine graduated working drawers either side, including a large central drawer in the middle of the desk. The drawer configuration is repeated on the back of the desk. It is unusual to see partners’ desks with a full set of drawers either side there are usually cupboards to the back of the desk. All drawers are oak lined, feature hand dovetailing and boast reeded mouldings (a sign of quality). They also retain their original brass handles and escutcheons. The drawers also feature working locks (with key). The pedestals sit on moulded plinths. The desk is freestanding which means it can be situated in the centre of the room. As this is a large desk, it means there is significant storage space available. The desk can be dismantled into three sections for easy transport and access into the home.
This desk features a rich oak colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning it has received. Lovely oak medullary rays are prominent in the oak on the desk.

If you prefer a different colour leather, we can replace it with a colour of your choice for an additional £250. Nominal old use marks to the insides of the drawers, with ink stains visible in some drawers. All drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The drawers incorporate working brass lever locks (and key). This desk is solid in joint and ready to use.

Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit, therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you be email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.
We will also provide you with our shippers' contact details, in case you need to contact the driver on the day of delivery. For any large items that require 2 people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item. A free 14-day “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item.
