A superb example of 19th-century craftsmanship, this elegant Victorian bureau de dame is crafted from richly grained rosewood and kingwood with finely executed marquetry throughout. The bureau feature elegant, pierced brass galleries and fall-front door features beautiful inlay work that lend a touch of delicacy and refinement. Inside, the fitted interior includes a green baize writing surface, three small drawers, and a cleverly concealed compartment hidden behind a sliding panel—perfect for safeguarding correspondence or keepsakes. The desk stands on graceful cabriole legs, adorned with ormolu mounts at the hips and united by a shaped apron embellished with further marquetry detail.
