Victorian Maple & Co Burr Walnut Envelope Table
A stunning Victorian burr walnut envelope card table. I have seen a lot of these antique tables but I can't remember seeing a burr walnut version just lots rosewood and mahogany!
The top has well figured walnut veneer with marquetry inlay. It rotates to allow the pop up button to open one leaf. It has been re lined with red felt which it had originally and compliments the walnut well.
It has a single drawer to the front again with marquetry inlay and original brass handles. To the top of the drawer is the makers stamp of Maple & Co a renowned top quality cabinetmaker.
The body also has burr veneer and boxwood string inlay. It sits on four tapering fluted legs terminating with brass well working castors. This is a games table but could easily be used as a side table when not required.
