An excellent original antique Victorian period open bookcase in mahogany. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1880-1890 period.

It is of super quality, with a breakfront design and lots of storage space for books. The adjustable shelves sit on sharks teeth supports. This sits on a plinth base, has grooved front edges and lovely carving on the upper corners.

We have just had this re-polished, it is in excellent condition for its age. There are just some minor marks and indentations here and there beneath the polish, commensurate for age.

Please don’t confuse this with the many badly converted bookcases adapted from wardrobes that seem to be flooding the market right now.
