This is a super apothecary cabinet of a very practical size and is a stunning piece of antique furniture.
The cabinet dates from late Victorian approx. 1870, manufactured by Sumner & Co Fitters Kings Cross London. It is Mahogany and has matured and patinated to the most beautiful colour. The cabinet comes in 3 manageable pieces the top, the centre mirror piece and the base. The top has 4 glass doors framed in mahogany with brass handles and contain 6 glass shelves with the odd nibble on one or two, the cabinet also has mirrored back. This top cabinet sits on 3 turned mahogany spindles to the front and the mirror back at the back. The mirror back which sits between the top and base runs the full length of the cabinet again framed in mahogany, this could be left out to reduce the height and it would also cover the holes where the spindles sit. Next comes the base which has a gorgeous mahogany top unfortunately with one or two marks. (Please see photos but also please be aware when picked out these such things look worse than when seen in the real and from a top view). The base has two banks of 5 graduating drawers either side a 2-door cupboard, the drawers have set in brass finger pull handles which look stunning against the rich mahogany. The cupboard contains 2 wooden shelves.

Condition This cabinet is in super condition with only the odd bump or mark as one would expect to see on such a piece but all add to the beauty of the piece, there is the odd nibble on one or two of the glass shelves. There is a small piece of mahogany missing from the back side corner of the pelmet (see photos). Also there a little foxing on one of the mirrors at the back of the cupboard. We have done nothing to this piece except a good polish just beautiful as it is.

Sizes O/V H2375mm W2525mm D505mm if the mirror was left out of between the top and base overall height could be reduced to 2115mm.
