A fine example of a late Victorian freestanding ice box/Refrigerator. A great example in nice condition. This piece is constructed of pine which has its original painted exterior. To the top is a lift up galvanised panel where there is a compartment for the ice, it also has its original tap below the ice compartment so that you can easily drain off the water, to the left of this is a hinged panel for storage and below the top are two lockable cupboards all lined and having there original adjustable shelving. Original Locks and keys all fully functioning. This came out of a Grade I listed Round House in Leicestershire where it has stood all these years belonging to the same family. circa 1890 Labeled The Hygienic with a later plaque for Bell & Co Ironmongers Northampton.
