Victorian Child's Needlework Sampler 1850


This antique Victorian sampler is dated 1850. It was made by Susanna Batty. The sampler is in colour and has flower and animal decoration as well as letters.
Condition: Overall in fair condition with some wear and damage consistent with age and use. There is some discoluration and some significant loss to the embroidery, mainly around the edges but also to the top two lines of the alphabet. It looks to have been folded at some point and has some creasing and wear along the fold lines. There are some loose threads and some fraying.
